What are Retention Periods?

Retention periods are the time period in which your data is kept by a company, and it's important to keep in mind that this may differ from country to country. In the US and EU, companies are required to keep your data for a year; however, in Asia, it can be kept for three years or indefinitely. If you're worried about your company keeping your data long term, check with them first to see what their retention policies are.
